Combined Ops Groups and Roles Combined Ops Website

Although many Combined Ops features can be used by individual users, the platform is designed to provide its full operational value when used by virtual squadrons and groups. Groups allow commanders and other members to organize operations, assign responsibilities, manage access, and coordinate the use of DCS AOC Tools, DCS Mission Planner, and DCS Airspace.

After registering an account, the first step for a squadron or virtual group is to create a group. Each group can then assign different roles to its members according to their responsibilities within the organization.

The Founder

The group should normally be created by the squadron commander, group holder, or coordinator. The user who creates the group is automatically assigned the Founder role.

The Founder status cannot be removed, so the Founder member cannot be removed from the group. The Founder can also accept or reject requests to join the group and appoint group members as Admins, AOC Admins, AOC Members, or Editors.

Group Admins

Group Admins have the same group-management permissions as the Founder, except that they cannot remove or change the Founder status.

Admins can therefore manage group membership and assign the appropriate operational roles to other group members.

AOC Admins

AOC Admins are intended for group members responsible for configuring access and operational settings for the group's Air Operations Center (AOC).

AOC Admins can configure specific options, including passwords and permission settings that control access to DCS Mission Planner and DCS Airspace. They always have access to both coalitions and to the available features in DCS AOC Tools, DCS Mission Planner, and DCS Airspace, regardless of operation registration or other participation settings.

AOC Members

AOC Members are group members responsible for mission planning, mission editing, operational coordination, and documentation preparation.

AOC Members have full access to the features available in DCS AOC Tools, allowing them to prepare the operational information and documentation used by the group's missions and operations.

Editors

Editors are appointed by the Founder or Group Admins and have permissions focused on the Combined Ops website rather than the full AOC environment.

Editors can create and edit the group's published operations on the website and accept or reject user requests to participate in those operations.
