Guide to Projects Management in AOC Tools

AOC Tools is your command center for planning and managing air operations in DCS World. This guide will show you how to get started by creating a new project or accessing an existing one.

Creating a New Project

To start a new operation or campaign in DCS World, you will need to create a new project in AOC Tools:

  1. Access the Project Dashboard: From the main navigation bar, look for the "Project Dashboard" or "Projects" section. This is the central page where you manage all your projects.
  2. Find the "Create New Project" button: On the dashboard, you should find a button or option for "Create New Project" or "Add Project". Click it to open the creation form.
  3. Fill in the Project Details: You will be asked to enter essential information such as the project name, the associated group (if applicable), and to upload the DCS World mission's .miz file. Ensure the .miz file is valid, as it is crucial for extracting mission data.
  4. Save the Project: Once all necessary details are entered, confirm the project creation. The system will process the .miz file and automatically populate the initial data for the ATO, units, communications, etc.

Opening an Existing Project

If you have an ongoing project or want to review past operations, you can easily open it from the dashboard:

  1. Access the Project Dashboard: As for creation, start by navigating to the "Project Dashboard" or "Projects" from your interface.
  2. Filter and Find Your Project: The dashboard will show you a list of available projects. You can use the filters (by group, folder, future/past missions) to narrow down the search and quickly find the desired project.
  3. Select the Project: Once you have located the project, click the "Open" or "Select" button associated with it. This will take you to the project management page, where you can access all its sections (ATO, SPINS, Comm Plan, Assignments, etc.).
  4. Choose the Coalition (if required): For projects that support multiple coalitions (Blue/Red), you might be asked to select the coalition you wish to work with. This will ensure you are viewing and modifying data pertinent to your faction.

Once a project is open, you will have full access to all AOC Tools to plan, manage, and document your air operations.
