SRS Control Panel DCS Airspace
Last updated: Jul 25, 2026
The SRS Control Panel is an integrated interface that allows operators to manage radios, frequencies, and transmission parameters directly within the application, synchronizing all adjustments with Simple Radio Standalone (SRS) in real time.
Requirements:
- SRS Version: 2.4.0.0 or higher
- Combined Ops Link Version: 0.1.3.2 or higher
1. Overview & Connection Status
The top bar of the panel displays system status indicators and spatial binding parameters:
-
Connection Status Indicator: A status LED located at the top-left of the panel indicates the connection status to Combined Ops Link. Combined Ops Link acts as a bridge, running locally on the user's machine to communicate with the SRS Client while establishing a remote connection to the SRS Server. Operating Combined Ops Link in the background is required to enable real-time audio and frequency synchronization.
-
Control / Location Display: Displays the current spatial anchor (e.g., active airbase or selected air unit). Spatial coordinates and altitude are continuously updated to provide realistic radio signal propagation within SRS and DCS World.
2. Radio Controls & Channels
The panel provides access to dedicated radio channels (Radio 1 through Radio 10) and an Intercom channel.
Channel Features
-
Frequency Input: Frequencies can be typed manually into the display field or loaded from Comm Plan (if available from AOC) via the channel selector menu (Ch. button). Manual frequency entries automatically validate input length and modulation type (AM/FM).
-
Display Label Toggle (Lbl): Clicking the label trigger cycles the display text (from Comm Plan) between the Callsign, ID, Type, or a blank field.
-
Channel Selector (Ch.): Opens a pre-filtered dropdown list containing available preset channels from the active Commu Plan, categorized by modulation type.
-
Radio Activation (ON): Sets the active primary transmission radio. Only one radio can be designated as primary at a time.
-
Volume Slider: Adjusts the output volume for each individual radio receiver.
3. Specialized Transmission Functions
Each standard radio includes dedicated operational toggles:
-
Guard Reception (GD): Enables or disables monitoring on the designated Guard frequency for the selected radio (available on compatible channels).
-
Radio Retransmit (RT): Enables or disables the retransmission mode on the selected radio channel, allowing incoming signals to be automatically relayed to another configured frequency.
-
Simultaneous Transmission (ST): Toggles secondary radio channels for simultaneous transmission alongside the primary radio.
-
Global Simultaneous TX Mode: Located at the bottom of the panel. Enabling Simultaneous TX unlocks the ability to activate ST on multiple channels concurrently. Disabling global simultaneous transmission automatically disengages all active secondary transmission channels.
4. Intercom System
-
Channel Selection: Uses step controls (▲ / ▼) or direct numerical input to switch between internal intercom channels (1–30).
-
Volume Control: Independent volume adjustment slider separate from tactical radio channels.
5. Location Assignment
To bind radio transmissions to a specific geographic position or asset:
-
Select an Airbase or an allowed Live Unit on the tactical map.
-
Trigger the location SET button on the left side menu.
-
The selected unit or airbase name will populate in the header bar, and position data (latitude, longitude, elevation) will begin syncing automatically.
6. Connection Guide
To establish full synchronization between the interface and SRS, follow these steps:
-
Connect SRS Client: Launch the local SRS Client, connect to your target SRS Server as usual, and enable External AWACS Mode (EAM).
-
Launch Combined Ops Link: Start the Combined Ops Link application on your local machine.
-
Note: If running for the first time, manually configure the connection to your SRS Server. Subsequent launches will automatically connect to the saved server profile.
-
-
Open DCS Airspace: Open (or refresh) the DCS Airspace browser page. The status LED in the SRS Control Panel header will turn active once synchronization is established.
Note: Custom panel configurations, volume levels, selected frequencies, and active toggles are automatically saved and restored across sessions.
